I remember when I first went to ITI, I was so excited because I loved the field I was going into I had a true passion for it. The way ITI taught me was extraordinary.Simply because I was not one of those people that learn easily by just reading a book. They catered to the way that I learned best, through labs and practicing the concepts. I am forever grateful because I have learned so much and they helped me get several Jobs throughout the years. I now have a great Job at neighbors federal credit Union as their IT tech with multiple paths that I can take within the company to further my Career. I love my Job, not a lot of people can say that. I give all the credit to ITI because they made this all possible for me.

I can say ITI taught me that hard work and dedication only yields success. Balancing work and school was difficult. At times I wanted to give up. But I knew the rewards were greater than my struggles. Nine and a half years later I am still using the knowledge and hands on training I obtained at ITI.

I don’t know where to begin... My experience with ITI was not only great but it opened doors up to my current job with Dow chemical. The time I was there the hours was very flexible and the Teachers were great and really experienced real world lessons on being in a chemical plant. While I was in school at ITI I was able to get an internship with Dow and as soon I graduated I was offered a job. I’ve been with Dow for 15 years and we still hire new employees that went to ITI and that says a lot!

During my tenure at ITI, I developed a lot of skills related to networking, desktop support, and many other facets of Information Technology. The course material provided me with an excellent overview of the world of IT and has prepared me well for the work world. I’m very glad I decided to go to ITI; my time there helped me feel confident in my career path and made me strive for more in life.

ITI provided me the opportunity to attend class in the evening while working full-time during the day. At the end of my 2-year program career services set me up with a successful interview landing me my first Instrument/Controls Designer position.Without the knowledge, skills, and experience ITI provided, I would not have been able to excel and advance as a designer.

My degree from ITI has prepared me to be very successful in my career. The hands on learning and externship I did through ITI gave me the confidence to hit the ground running in my career. I also knew that when starting the internship program at my job that ITI was the best place to get qualified students which has led to a very successful internship program

As a Senior Applications Analyst supporting the recruiting efforts of a nationwide company, I can say that my degree from ITI prepared me to be committed to my work even through challenges. Though I chose the IT field, I didn't have a specific career path in mind when I attended. The encouragement from the instructors there gave me the confidence to take the 1st step towards a rewarding career.

As a single mother, I achieved an Associate’s Degree in Information Systems from ITI. ITI laid the foundation for my career in the tech industry, enabling me to build my skillset and leverage new opportunities. Today, the skills I learned from ITI and honed throughout my career have culminated in a rewarding six-figure income while I work from home with a healthy work life balance. ITI helped guide me into a life long career in the electrical and instrumentation field. ITI provided me with a set of fundamentals and knowledge in the electronics service world that I could build on. I received the certification of “Certified Electronics Technician”. I spent almost every evening at ITI absorbing as much knowledge as possible to better my family's life. The time and knowledge that the instructors offered were invaluable in helping me get to where I am today. It may be a bit more expensive and a bit more intensive, but it was worth it to me.

I spent years of my life working dead end jobs with little to no reward. Work was a burden and unenjoyable. My brother went to ITI and graduated and I saw his life take off. It was then that I knew I wanted to go to ITI. Since graduating from ITI in Instrumentation and Control Systems Technology, my life has completely changed for the better. I have found a rewarding career that I take pride in, enjoy, and am completely infatuated by. Work has become an exciting and enjoyable learning experience every single day. Enrolling in the Process Technology program at ITI gave me both valuable knowledge and life-changing lessons. ITI helped me build a strong foundation that led to securing a position in my dream career. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited for what lies ahead in my professional journey.

Even though I had been studying industrial instrumentation, I decided to explore beyond the industrial side. I was then hired on by TriMedX, one of the most reputable clinical engineering companies in the country, as an entry level biomedical equipment technician. Aside from the invaluable education I received from ITI, I was able to meet great individuals who had been successful in their fields of work. ITI gifted me a new beginning in life.

One of the most direct ways ITI college prepared me for my role as a process operator was through the acquisition of technical knowledge. Courses in chemistry, physics, and engineering principles provided a solid grounding in scientific concepts that underpin process operations. Laboratory classes and hands-on workshops were particularly valuable. They offered practical experience with the types of equipment and procedures I would later encounter in my job. For instance, working with distillation columns, heat exchangers, and furnaces in a controlled academic setting allowed me to gain confidence and competence. These experiences were crucial when I transitioned to the industrial environment where precision and accuracy are paramount. Hard work, commitment, and resilience along with the knowledge I acquired through ITI Technical College has provided me with a career and life I could have only dreamt of- today I am living it. ITI Gave me the tools to succeed in my journey as an Electronic and Mechanical Technician. I’m Grateful for the knowledge I obtained while I was there. I have been employed with Capital City Press The Advocate since 2018.

ITI Technical College was the starting point of a new opportunity, without going back to school I would have never received the opportunity to work as an instrument tech. I now have a career that I love, working at Dow Plaquemine in Hydrocarbons 3. While at ITI, I worked during the day and went to school at night. Once you get through the school then you will have the basics to excel your new career.

ITI Drafting courses gave me a stable environment that kept me engaged (even while working turnarounds). I eventually was able to get off my tools and start in an office/field position being a Piper. Now I lead from from office and home. Best decision I have ever made.

ITI didn't just Teach me hard skills, it taught me soft skills as well. If I could take one thing from my time at ITI it is this, knowledge alone doesn't make your tomorrow, but add in teamwork, and you are going to accelerate your success.."

See i had personality confidence but i lacked education confidence and ITI gave me the confidence in my education to keep pursuing my goals and dreams in life. I graduated from ITI with that degree then I went on to get another associates and my bachelor's from a 4 year degree college and now I'm attending Golden Gate University and I have a year left for my MBA in project management with a concentration in finance. My next goal is law school but it's only a vision for now. Hopefully I can turn it into a reality. I have life long memories at ITI and being the President of the Veterans chapter and working with the VP Mark Worthy to make a few things happen for Veterans was also a memorable experience.

I graduated from ITI with an Associate’s Degree in Instrumentation and Controls in 2011 and have been working as an instrument tech in the oil industry ever since. My instructors at ITI were knowledgeable and had industry experience relevant to the courses they were teaching. I’m glad I made the choice to attend ITI and to pursue a career in Instrumentation. Not only do I love my job, This career gives me the ability to provide for my wife and 3 young children

The time I spent at ITI is the most rewarding decision I've made when it comes to my career. My experience at ITI helped paved the way for me to jump right into my career in Process Technology. The professors were extremely helpful and instrumental in me earning my degree. Attending ITI Technical College was the start of the life I always wanted. From a young age, I knew I wanted to work in Information Technology. I heard from a few friends who had graduated before me that ITI gave them the tools they needed to succeed—and that they landed jobs soon after finishing the program. That motivated me to enroll.My time at ITI was a great experience. The instructors had real-world IT experience, which made learning both practical and inspiring. One of the biggest highlights for me was the externship program—it helped me get my foot in the door with several companies and start building my career early on.After graduating, I continued working in the IT field and built a path I'm proud of. I’m now in my 10th year as an IT Technician at First National Bankers Bank, and I love what I do.None of this would’ve been possible without ITI. I truly enjoyed my time at ITI, as it challenged me to learn new skills and think critically. The hands-on projects and group work helped me develop teamwork and problem-solving abilities. ITI also taught me how to manage my time effectively and adapt to new situations which has been invaluable in the work industry. Overall my ITI experience gave me the confidence and knowledge I needed to succeed in my career. If I had to do it all over again the one thing I would change would be making the decision to further my career at ITI sooner! This career path made a tremendous difference in my life and is already shaping my future into something bigger than I would have ever thought.

I completed the instrumentation program at ITI in 1983 after earning a degree in Psychology from LSU. Once I joined the workforce, I realized that what I learned at ITI was the foundation that was needed to really learn and excel in the field of industrial Instrumentation. I also found out that this career was a journey that required continuous learning to keep up with the developing technology. I am thankful that ITI was in my path and the program was what I needed to open doors that became a lifelong career. My job Title for the last 30 years has been “LAO Site Loop Verification Coordinator” for the Dow Chemical Co., responsible for commissioning of all Instrumentation and assisting commissioning of Electrical equipment modified or installed as part of construction projects. (Retiring in February 2024). ITI was the foundation for all I have achieved.

Because of a great team of career counselors, I got my first IT job in 2017 because of ITI and now I’m an IT systems and network engineer for both the Syngenta St.Gabriel site and Omaha, NE site.I had a lot of support from instructors as I worked in my IT career. I could rely on them to help me troubleshoot and learn in real time almost like on the job training.I have made quite a few friends that I still talk to today, including previous instructors that have been a great resource for getting advice or job networking. I owe ITI a great deal of gratitude for my success

Attending ITI was the most impactful decision I made for my professional career. Not only did I get a solid foundation for building my technical experience, but more importantly I learned valuable life skills. Skills like resume writing,interview skills, technical writing, and professional communication have all helped me further my career and solidify my position as a Cyber-Security Team Lead at CMA Technology Solutions.

Since graduating from ITI, my life has changed for the better. When technology in my field changed,I would contact the school and refresh myself on the changes and updates of the Drafting field. The knowledge and expertise of the instructors gave me the edge I needed to go from a drafting apprentice to a Senior Designer for an Electrical Engineering firm. I landed an internship at Air Liquide while attending ITI, and after graduating, I was offered a full-time position. I have a very prosperous career ahead of me, thanks to ITI! From learning chemistry to understanding how boilers and heat exchangers work, the instructors prepared me for success and continually challenged me. I was given the tools and skills to succeed in my career. Attending ITI truly changed my life.

ITI gave me the hands-on and practical experience needed to jump start my career in Information Technology. The instructors gave me real life scenarios and advice that I either still use or pass on to my employees 20 years later.

During my time at ITI I got plenty of hands on training with various things involving my field of choice. My teachers were very knowledgeable in the information being delivered and if it wasn’t for them and my choice to go to ITI I wouldn’t be where I am today. My aspirations have always been to strive for greatness. I knew attending ITI Technical College would be a power move for my future. With the structure of the Process Technology program, instructors & pace of the curriculum ITI Technical College prepared me in numerous ways. My initial role in the private sector was as a chemical operator That role taught me to “respect the process” and to “control what I can control.” Thus, my path was a little different. I knew I wanted more; Something that would increase my impact to humanity. My transition was not easy but by the grace of God, I am now a part of a pharmaceutical laboratory. I recommend anyone serious about the sustainability of their future, to select ITI Technical College.

ITI provided me with the knowledge and training needed to get into my HVAC career. I went from doing ductwork in residential to 9 years later being a Service Manager at Bernhard managing my own team at BASF in Geismar. I would not be where I am today without the amazing teachers at ITI.

ITI educated me and gave me hands-on experience in my career field. But I feel the most part was that they helped me find a job. ITI didn't just graduate me then leave me to find my own way. The instructors and deans worked with me to find the job I wanted, with the company I wanted. And that was life changing.".

ITI provided me the fundamental knowledge for becoming an entry level operator at a synthetic diesel refinery. As my proficiency grew through on the job experience, I was able to transition in my career to industrial nuclear power. Currently, I am an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer/ Engineering Work Management Coordinator at a nuclear power station. My career growth stemmed directly from earning my degree at ITI, the network that I forged with ITI instructors, and the career resources that ITI provides to their student base.

The decision to attend ITI Technical College completely changed the course of my life. When I entered the Process Technology Program, I didn't have a clue about what I was doing. The instructors were very professional, very helpful, and personable with their approach to educating the students. I knew this was the right place for me. I rose up the ranks fast with such highly skilled instructors. After graduation, I have gone on to work for Products and Chemicals. My ITI education has given me the ability to travel all over the country as a lead operator specializing in confined space supervision. I tell family and friends, or whoever will listen. Along the way I've met some of the most influential people that have mentored me along my path and taught me the ropes to scale in life. While at ITI I got a lot of hands on time doing things that I would need for the IT industry. That you would normally get on a job. I also got a lot of networking with lots of people in my field.

Enrolling in the instrument & control systems technology program at ITI Technical College was the turning point in my life. The time spent at ITI in the Digital & Analog Electronics course led me to jobs I wouldn't have had without it.From working in Public Safety supporting statewide communications for State Police and other agencies to being a Digital Forensics Examiner for the Attorney General's ICAC Task Force. I'm retired doing contract forensics through my PI company and I am interviewing to become a forensic software trainer.

My time at ITI was well worth it. I had the opportunity to meet some amazing friends and colleagues. I attended ITI because I was tired of changing jobs and was looking to start a career in instrumentation. I graduated in March of 2012 and began my career at Air Products in March 2012 as an instrument technician. ITI was a major asset to my family and I having a better life.

My decision to change careers and attend ITI helped to fuel my confidence for the biggest transition of my life. ITI's training and staff gave me the knowledge and skills to succeed as a process technician. A single father with two kids in the home, working a full time job, continuing my education was a big commitment. Going to ITI College has altered the course of my life for the better. I was in my early 20’s and working in a hot warehouse when I decided to change my life and go back to school for drafting. Being a graduate of ITI opened many doors for me. Every teacher I had made sure that I was prepared and educated in my field, and I was able to get a job as an E/I designer right out of school. I will always be grateful and proud of my education from ITI.

Honestly being a student at ITI was the most challenging time in my life. I worked full time at a plant working 12-16 hrs consistently while still trying to remain focused as a student. My teachers were some of my biggest supporters and motivated me to keep pushing on a daily basis assuring me that in the end all would be worth it and it definitely was! I was hired by Schlumberger and was away at training the day of my graduation. Now I currently work for one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world I’m truly Blessed and Thankful for the process and all that I learned from ITI..

ITI Technical College provided me with the basics to get started in operations. I was also working at the time, so the option to go to school during the day and night time helped me tremendously. After graduating, ITI helped me find a job as an operator at a wastewater treatment plant. That job gave me the experience to get to the job I have now, process technician in the Ethylene unit of Shintech. Both jobs are different but ITI prepared me for them. They gave me the necessary tools I needed to apply for the job and also taught me how to conduct myself in an interview Most importantly ITI gave me the knowledge I needed to be a good operator.

In my time at ITI, I learned to think outside the box. I also learned the importance of searching harder for the information i needed and learned how to dig deep to find it.

Being from a small town, ITI made me feel right at home. Whenever you come on campus and the staff knows you by name, that shows the level of respect and appreciation that they have for each individual. ITI has given me the ability and confidence to start my career and succeed with it. I owe part of my success to ITI. With the quality of education that ITI provides, and hard work, there are no limits in our industry.

I've been in Management for the last 17 years. 14 Has been in Senior Engineering roles restructuring facilities with reliability issues. ITI helped me bridge my Business Administration and Practical knowledge needed to understand complex instrumentation and automation struggles throughout major facilities, by doing this helping maximize OEE / Mechanical Availability transitioning 5 facilities from Louisiana to Delaware that produce more than 1 billion pounds of Chicken annually at a single complex.

ITI was a great choice because it gave me the opportunity to go learn a field (IT) that I was passionate about and wanting to make a career out of but didn't have to take 4 years to do it. The instructors and staff care about your success and will do what they can to help. I can look back and say it was a great experience and I'm happy that I chose ITI

ITI was a great move for me, being that I was at a point trying to figure out my next phase of my life. With also family members that went to ITI before me I took a chance and never looked back since. Good teachers, helpful information, and the opportunity to better myself.

I have been an overhead crane technician with Hoist and Crane Service Group since 2008 right after i graduated from ITI. From my time at ITI I learned the basics for me to excel with my career as an Overhead Crane Technician. Even though we did not learn every single thing there is to know about being an electrician or the electrical field, the basics I've learned with the electrical program gave me the confidence to begin and grow in a new career and learning more to be successful in this career. I actually attended ITI twice. Once for Technical Drafting and then Computer Networking. During my time working through the IT degree program I met another student, Jeremy Gonzales, that helped me get into the healthcare IT space. As I continued through my career in healthcare IT, I was able find the connections between two different skills sets that I obtained from ITI that I never even considered being connected before. Over a decade later, this has enabled me to move into the Enterprise Architecture discipline and use the principles from both programs to contribute and sometimes lead thoughtful discussions about how an organization can look strategically at our operations and plan for a better future involving changes that continuously come our way.

ITI gave me the opportunity to have a solid foundation and understanding of instrumentation theories to build and expand my knowledge of instrumentation and control systems and further my career in instrumentation. ITI gave me all the tools I needed to excel early and often in my career as an instrument technician which allowed me to have the opportunity to provide for my family and also work in a challenging, not often repetitive, rewarding field.

ITI taught me the basics of Autocad, enough for me to land a job immediately. Thanks to what I learned I was able to support my family and give my three girls a wonderful life. Coming up on 30 years doing drafting and design . Thank you ITI for everything.

My name is Jessica Perez CCMA, I am a proud graduate of ITI Technical College. I never thought that going to college would be possible for me but with ITI College's hours I was able to work while I completed my MA certification, EKG Technician and Phlebotomy courses. Since graduating I have been able to work in several specialties including Pediatric Cardiology, General Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Adult Cardiology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, OBGYN and now Ear Nose & Throat. ITI prepared me for the different work settings and the variety of skills are often used. This has set financial stability and job security in my life. After picking up drafting skills in my time in college & becoming an electrician for 14 years, ITI gave me the instrumentation skills to take the next step in my career. I've been an I & E Designer at several engineering firms over the past 34 years. I've been a consultant (Site I & E Designer) through HGA, LLC for the past 14 years. ITI had a lot to do with my success.

Going to ITI was likely one of the best decisions I've ever made. Traditional college at large schools with large classrooms made me feel like just another student. I enjoyed the two years that I was at ITI. I learned a lot even outside of what I actually was taking up at the school which was instrumentation and control of technology. I graduated from ITI in 1982 for Industrial Instrumentation. I was just 18 yrs old, straight out of Woodlawn High School God had a plan for my life and it was to be at ITI. Six years ago I retired from Xerox with 34 yrs as a Senior Customer Service Engineer. Two weeks before my exit date from Xerox, I got a call from a contractor at Marathon Refinery. Marathon wanted an onsite printer technician. I have now been at Marathon for 6 yrs working my second dream job. ITI also taught me to be a professional at whatever I do! Thank you ITI.

I was an Industrial Electrician that worked in major Refinery's and industrial facilities for over a decade and was always looking for the next big job. Although I was a great electrician, I never felt fulfilled and knew that something was missing in my career. I joined ITI technical college spring of 2021, because of the discipline and the structural values that they instilled in their students. While attending ITI for Process Technology I noticed that my verbiage and thought process was changing. I began to understand why A goes before B and requires WXYZ to complete a safe and efficient process. ITI's P-Tech instructors prepared me to be great in the Process Technology field. But industrial business knowledge/understanding exists in me from the math, technical writing, and computer literacy classes. The combination of information has taken me further than being a great process technician. With my knowledge from ITI I brainstorm projects, plan the projects, get the quotes, order the parts/machinery, install, and commission the project. There is a saying that, "ITI will guarantee you a job." I am a witness to say that if you are willing to discipline yourself and allow ITI to mold you, then yes you will always have a job! With God and ITI knowledge, there will always be a job waiting for you.

Most don’t speak on Technical Colleges but they are one of the most important institutions out there in my eyes. ITI Technical College and their Instrumentation and Controls program was one of the best decisions I ever made. I have been in the industry since 2009 after graduating high school. After I visited ITI and spoke with advisors I knew that is where I wanted to start. Since graduating from ITI Technical College in 2012 , I have had numerous opportunities from offshore jobs and land jobs. Extremely happy with the decision to attend. Before attending ITI Technical College, I worked as a teacher which was a rewarding experience, but I felt like I wanted more for my life—more growth, more opportunity and a new challenge. I’ve always had an interest in how things work, especially in industrial settings, so I started looking into technical programs that could give me a fresh start. ITI stood out to me because of its hands-on training,experienced instructors, and focused programs that are built around real-world careers. ITI definitely was a life changing experience. From the admissions process, til the final day of walking across the "big stage," the motto "for a better life" was instilled in their education process. Over time I developed great friendships with the staff and fellow students. I have now been at FLEX in Austin, TX as an Equipment Automation Tech for almost a year. I am also pursuing a higher education with tuition reimbursement through my employer. None of this would have been possible without the lessons and experience of being an ITI graduate!

ITI has been one of the best decisions of my life. What I valued the most during my time there; and even till this day, are three of the most influential people: Dana Keys, my Job Services Coordinator; Glene Mead; and Randy Thorson. My time at ITI Technical College was a great experience. The array of classes I had taken definitely played a crucial role in developing experience in my field. What stuck out the most to me was the on-site plant that allowed me to troubleshoot. ITI was not my first school for higher education. I started at a more traditional college. I had always done well in school before, but at that point I wasn't ready and I was struggling. When I needed a change, I found ITI and they gave me everything that I needed to succeed. In the classroom I had the individual attention of my instructors, a guided curriculum, assistance with my financial aid, they even guided me on the repayment options for my student loans when I was about to graduate. When I needed a job they helped me with that too. I never felt on my own at ITI. At each one of those steps there was a person to talk to who cared. ITI was just a bunch of people who really cared. They really take each students educational experience personally and I feel that I got another family with ITI.

I’m so glad I enrolled in the Medical Assistant program at ITI when I did. I needed some direction in my life and ITI gave it to me . My instructors showed me how important the course in Medical-assisting really was. Thanks to ITI faculty and the training I received in the Electronics Technology AOS degree program, I have had the opportunity to work with Emerson Process Management and multiple Emerson partners over the last 23 years on the DeltaV DCS. I began my career as a service technician and moved up to working side by side with chemical and electrical engineers in the same roles. Without the education offered by ITI I would not be in the position to now work for myself as an independent contractor and soon start my own company..

I received my process degree and furthered my career in the Instrumentation and Electrical side of the oil and gas industry. I've worked around the US from Pennsylvania to the Virgin Islands and even to Mexico. I am currently hired on with Exxonmobil going on 3 years.

Attending ITI was one of the best decisions I've made to this day. The Faculty and Staff treated me as if I'd known them for years. Currently in my 16th year of IT, maintaining a career with Turner Industries in Port Allen La, supporting Houston, Pasadena, and Paris TX..

I started at ITI with the sole purpose of being the replacement in my family for repairing and/or fixing our refrigeration and HVAC systems back home. I had no idea of all the benefits the field had to offer. The staff were very helpful and involved with our day-to-day lessons, answering questions, and in house labs. The education and experienced I received allowed me to go into business for myself. Currently, I have been an Operations Technician at ExxonMobil – Baton Rouge Plastic Plant for the past 10 years, and the knowledge and troubleshooting skills learned while attending ITI, assists me everyday at my current job working with boilers and refrigeration equipment. I am grateful everyday for having the opportunity to learn a skill I can take with me any and everywhere. Thank you, ITI.

ITI helped to give me the opportunity for personal and professional growth. I was able to get my start in the Petrochemical industry through the P-Tech program. After being a Process Operator for four years with ExxonMobil, I was able to further grow my career into business management roles servicing the Petrochemical Industry in South Louisiana.

While at ITI I was able to gain alot of knowledge in the Technology and Networking field. The instructors were very knowledgeable and taught me alot throughout my years there.

Of all of the schooling I've had, I appreciate ITI the most because we were more like a family than a class of students with a professor. I have gone on to do great things and am now working in Project Management for a Software Development company. We provide some of our known government agencies with fund management software. I got a top-notch education that helped me land a great career at ExxonMobil Chemicals in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I worked through all-natural phases of progression and am now the Production Supervisor of Shell Geismar Largest Alpha Olefin Units. My time as a student at ITI Technical College was a very memorable experience in my life. I learned the necessary skills to become a knowledgeable process operator and instrument technician. When I started going to ITI, the only experience I had was in customer service and in retail. ITI taught me the skills I needed to work in Information Technology. ITI was the opportunity that I needed as a then 24 year old.Through studying in the instrumentation program, it was the foundation in my 22+ year career thus far with Controlworx/ John H. Carter Co. My career has excelled in the role as a valve and automation tech working for major oil companies on their production facilities offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. I graduated ITI in 2020 with an associates degree in drafting and design. All of the teachers were very knowledgeable and helpful which allowed me to get the best education possible. I was able to obtain a full time job in piping design while still enrolled in school, and have been employed full time ever since.
