Information Technology (AOS) is an intensive program that provides students with knowledge and skill-based training to work in IT positions in various industries. It is taught 4 days per week in morning or evening sessions for a total of 8 terms in 96 weeks. The program is 24 months during the day and evening sessions. Students must participate in 360-day or evening class sessions to complete the program.
Objective: The IT program prepares students with the foundational skills needed to begin a career in the Information Technology field. Networking Specialization students should have an understanding of hardware, software, organizational environments, and networking systems applications as well as being able to communicate effectively.

Program Overview
The Information Technology (AOS) Program teaches basic concepts, skills, and terminology for graduates to obtain entry-level jobs in this industry. Studies include classroom and laboratory work in these training areas:
- Introduction and Overview of Information Systems Technology
- Hardware and software tools used in the IT industry
- Core courses in Mathematics review and Success Skills
- Personal Computer (PC) Office Applications
- Introductory courses in Networking and Programming
These courses will help students decide which of the two specializations they would like to pursue. The Information Technology industry has become more specialized and skill-based. It is important that graduates are more specialized in their careers.
Networking Specialization: Students taking this specialty area receive the following training:
- 3 A+ courses that familiarize the student with the components, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a PC
- Operating Systems, PC Setup, and Microsoft Networking, CISCO, Linux, and Security
- Practical experience in the design, setup, and maintenance of various Networking configurations in an up-to-date laboratory setting
- Introduction to Security/Backup issues related to Networking
- Workplace Communications and Technical Writing Courses
- Selected elective courses including Web Design and Applications, Visual Design, or Database Design
Program Teaching Methods
The teaching methods used in this program include classroom theory and lab sessions that are coupled with an environment solidly based on industry Information Technology concepts. Studies are individualized and progress is monitored with assignments, quizzes, and laboratory evaluations.
